Fire Detection

Grade A & Grade D Fire Detection Installation in London

Interlinked mains-powered smoke and heat alarms for homes, and Grade A systems for HMOs and commercial premises.

From standard domestic Grade D1/LD2 setups (interlinked mains-powered smoke and heat alarms with lithium battery back-up) to complex commercial Grade A fire alarm systems featuring dedicated addressable panels for HMO landlords, our installations guarantee regulatory compliance and total life safety.

Interlinked alarms are the difference that matters: when one detector triggers, every alarm in the property sounds. We design coverage around the layout – hallways, landings, living areas and kitchens – using smoke and heat detection where each is appropriate.

For HMOs and commercial premises we design to the required category and grade, install the panel and detection, and certify the system so you can evidence compliance to licensing officers and insurers.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Grade A and Grade D?+

Grade D systems use mains-powered, interlinked domestic smoke and heat alarms – the standard for most homes and many HMOs. Grade A systems use a dedicated fire alarm panel with detectors and sounders, required for larger HMOs and commercial premises.

What do landlords have to provide?+

Rented properties must have working smoke alarms on every storey and carbon monoxide alarms where required; HMOs commonly need interlinked, mains-powered detection to a specified grade. We design and certify to the standard your licence requires.

Why interlinked alarms?+

Because a fire in one room should wake everyone. When one detector triggers, every alarm sounds throughout the property – which is why interlinking is required in most compliant installations.
